New issue of Trackrecord released

The cover story of the new issue of Trackrecord, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation’s staff newsletter, reports on the launch of the "Go the Extra Mile" campaign, the Corporation’s service excellence programme to promote care for its customers.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, KCRC’s Chief Executive Officer (Acting) Mr Samuel Lai called upon every member of staff to go the extra mile to achieve the Corporation’s goal, so that it stands tall as a provider of quality transport services not only in the minds of Hong Kong people, but of people around the world.
A special guest to the ceremony was the well-known film director and actor Mr Alfred Cheung. Mr Cheung opened a cafe two years ago, so he had some interesting experiences to share as a fellow practitioner in a service industry.
Another article covers the Newsline Express, the first outdoor medium providing Cable TV News and other infotainment on a railway.
The results of a recent survey conducted by the Tourism Commission are also reported in the same issue. According to the survey, visitors to Hong Kong were most satisfied with the service quality of railways, which attained a 4.3 satisfaction score out of a 5-point scale.
The completion of the Tsing Lun Road Footbridge in Tuen Mun is featured in one of the articles. It marked the end of the four-year, $2.3 billion Light Rail improvement project. Also on the Light Rail front, the Corporation recently received a few visitors from LegCo, including Ms Miriam Lau, Mr Albert Chan and Mr Tam Yiu-chung, who examined the workings of Light Rail open fare system.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
