KCRC introduces another temporary bus route to cope with service demand in new school term
To cope with the expected increase in service demand during the back-to-school period, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) announced that between 1 and 9 September inclusive, a free temporary bus route, route S2, would be introduced for Tuen Mun West Rail and Light Rail passengers. S2 will run in a circular route between West Rail Siu Hong Station and Tai Hing. It will cover major residential estates and sections including Siu Hong Court, Siu Hin Court, Kin Sang Estate, Tin King Estate, Leung King Estate, San Wai Court, Light Rail Shek Pai Stop, Shek Pai Tau Road and Tai Hing Estate. This route will also offer a transport alternative for passengers on Light Rail routes 505, 507, 615 and 615P and KCR feeder bus K58.
Route S2 will operate between 6:30am and 9:30am at intervals of 7 to 8 minutes, from Monday to Friday. KCRC will prepare publicity materials, including leaflets and posters, to advise passengers of the details of the route.
During the back-to-school period, KCRC will deploy additional platform assistants and operational staff at stops to maintain order and provide assistance to passengers. KCRC will also regulate the Light Rail and bus services flexibly with reference to the real situation to ensure smooth operations.
Passengers are advised to advance their departure from home, plan their journeys earlier and pay attention to electronic media announcements.
KCRC has announced earlier to arrange route S1, a free temporary bus route to run in a circular mode between West Rail Tin Shui Wai Station and Tin Heng, from 1 to 9 September inclusive. Route S1 will operate between 6:30am and 9:30am at intervals of 6 to 7 minutes, from Monday to Friday.
