East Rail service at 3-minute frequency during morning peak hour
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today announces that emergency repairs have to be carried out on some trains after examination. As a result, East Rail service frequency is slightly reduced in the morning peak hour.
Between 8 am – 9 am, the number of trips operated is reduced from 23 to 21 per hour per direction, or every three minutes. Two south bound trains will be cancelled, including one departing Sheung Shui for East Tsim Sha Tsui at 08:15 and another one departing Tai Po Market at 08:35 for Hung Hom.
KCRC has arranged emergency buses standing by to supplement East Rail service. KCRC will maintain close contact with the Transport Department to report on the latest service arrangement. The Corporation will also closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate contingency measure when necessary.
Passengers please pay close attention to the announcement made by radio and television, and to plan their journeys early according to their own travel schedules. KCRC apologises for the inconvenience caused.
For enquiries, passengers may call the KCRC Passenger Service Hotline at 2929 3399.
