KCRC Supports "Lunar New Year Gift Collection"

The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today donated more than 400 Lunar New Year gifts to the "People's Food Bank" of the St James' Settlement for distributing to the needy. The gifts, which included biscuits, candies and noodles, were collected from staff, passengers and tenants of KCRC shops during the Lunar New Year period.
KCRC is dedicated to helping the needy, and is actively involved in a wide variety of charitable events. At the gift handover ceremony today, Mr Samuel Lai, KCRC's Acting Chief Executive Officer said that the "Lunar New Year Gift Collection" programme had received overwhelming response, with 60% more gifts being collected than last year, which made KCRC the most supportive organisation of the programme this year. Mr Lai concluded his remarks by stating that "We support this meaningful event because it not only helps those in need, but it is also an environmentally friendly practice to avoid the wastage of food."
This is the second year that KCRC has joined the "Lunar New Year Gift Collection" programme. The Corporation set up collection points in its offices, Customer Services Centres and shopping malls, and appealed to staff, passengers and shop tenants to donate Lunar New Year gifts.
