East Rail services affected
 
East Rail (ER) services were affected this morning (2 April 2006) after a passenger jumped onto the tracks in Kowloon Tong Station at around 9:35am.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a male passenger jumped from the Lo Wu-bound platform in Kowloon Tong Station onto the tracks at 9:35am this morning when a train was approaching the platform. The driver sounded the horn and applied the emergency brake immediately.
During the incident, East Rail north bound train services were operated from Shatin to Lo Wu and from East Tsim Sha Tsui to Mong Kok stations at a frequency of 5 minutes each while south bound services remained normal.
Train services returned to normal at 9:55am. KCRC apologizes for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
KCRC has reported the incident to the Government.
