KCRC saddened by passing away of Mr. K. Y. Yeung
The Directors and staff of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation were very saddened this evening to hear of the untimely death of Mr. K.Y. Yeung, previously Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation.
The current Chairman, Mr. Michael Tien on behalf of the Corporation expresses deepest condolences to Mrs. Yeung and their family who must be grief stricken at this time.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Board, Mr. Tien said "K.Y. has done so much for the Corporation and throughout his public service has worked tirelessly for the good of Hong Kong people." How can we repay such a debt, he asked.
Mr. James Blake, speaking as CEO of KCRC on behalf of the Management and staff said that I visited K.Y. this evening for the last time and recollected a decade of expanding Hong Kong’s railway network under his incisive leadership. During earlier times, I was fortunate to work alongside K.Y. to implement major works making up the Airport Core Programme.
The Chairman concluded by saying that all who knew K.Y. will miss his intellectual courage and determination to succeed. May he rest in peace and to his family we hope that time will heal the wound of his passing.
