East Rail train service affected by defective Through Train
A Mainland semi-high speed through train hit an object at Shenzhen section tonight. The train became defective when arriving the north of Sheung Shui Station at about 8 pm and slightly affected East Rail southbound train service between Lo Wu and East Tsim Sha Tsui.
During the incident, northbound East Rail service was not affected. Train journey time from Lo Wu to East Tsim Sha Tsui was delayed by about 5-10 minutes because southbound East Rail trains had to divert to Sheung Shui loop line. At 9:15 pm, the through train proceeded to Hung Hom after urgent repair. East Rail train service resumed normal at the same time.
KCRC issued notices to the electronic media to update the traveling public about the incident. Public announcements were made and notices were posted at all East Rail stations.
KCRC apologizes for the inconvenience and the delay caused to passengers.
