East Rail service affected
East Rail train service was affected today after a woman jumped onto the track from north bound platform (Lo Wu direction) in Kowloon Tong Station at around 2:05 pm.
Fire services carried out emergency rescue and the woman was taken to hospital. Train service resumed normal at 2:33 pm.
During the incident, East Rail train service between Sha Tin and Lo Wu was not affected. KCRC arranged emergency buses to bring passengers to and fro Kowloon Tong and Sha Tin. Upon review of station video recordings, it was revealed that the woman rushed forward and jumped onto the track when a train was approaching. The driver stopped the train in time to avoid causing serious injuries to her. Police is conducting an investigation.
KCRC apologizes for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
