East Rail service affected
An incident happened at about 5.34am when the first north-bound (Lo Wu direction) East Rail train arrived Mong Kok Station this morning. A man suspected to be chasing the moving train fell onto the track. At the time of the incident, the train doors were closed after completion of loading and unloading of passengers. A platform staff immediately pressed the emergency button to stop the train. The man was taken to hospital with injuries.
During the incident, East Rail trains on both directions ran at 15-minute interval. Train service was resumed normal at 6:01am.
Since the incident happened in the early morning, the number of East Rail passengers affected was minimal Police are now conducting an investigation.
KCRC apologizes for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
