East Rail service affected

The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) apologizes for the inconvenience caused to passengers by two totally unrelated incidents that occurred at Fo Tan Station during off-peak hours this afternoon.
In the first incident, a north-bound train was taken out of service due to a minor malfunction at about 2:58 pm. Train service to Lo Wu direction maintained at a 10-minute frequency and service to East Tsim Sha Tsui direction was not affected. Normal train service was resumed at 3:27 pm.
In the second incident, a man jumped onto the tracks from north-bound platform in Fo Tan Station at around 4:53 pm. During the incident, East Rail train service was slightly affected. Train service was resumed normal at 5:49 pm. Police are now conducting an investigation into the incident.
Since the incidents happened in the non-peak hours, the number of passengers affected was minimal.
