KCRC launches Commemorative Ticket on the Inauguration of Lok Ma Chau Spur Line
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) has launched a limited edition of train ticket to commemorate the inauguration of Lok Ma Chau Spur Line. The commemorative ticket will be for sale on 15 August 2007 at ticket offices of East Rail Sha Tin and Mong Kok stations. All proceeds generated from the sale will be donated to The Community Chest of Hong Kong for charity purpose.
The commemorative ticket, priced at $100, will be valid for two journeys on standard class on KCR East Rail and Ma On Shan Rail (including cross-boundary service and Racecourse Station, but not applicable on KCR feeder buses) from 15 August to 14 September 2007. Only a limited quantity of 5,000 sets are available for sale. User can retain the ticket after use.
The Lok Ma Chau Spur Line, running along a 7.4-kilometre alignment, is the second cross-boundary railway to the Mainland. The Lok Ma Chau Station is another East Rail's northbound terminus other than the Lo Wu Station. East Rail passengers can board trains heading for Lok Ma Chau at any East Rail stations along East Tsim Sha Tsui to Sheung Shui; no interchange will be required. Lok Ma Chau Station is connected to the new Huanggang Station of Shenzhen Metro via a covered footbridge built over Shenzhen River. Lok Ma Chau Spur Line is built to relieve passenger congestion at Lo Wu and facilitate the growth of the cross-boundary rail traffic. Its completion marks another step forward of railway development of KCRC.
For details of the commemorative ticket, passengers may refer to KCRC's website at www.kcrc.com and the publicity materials at stations, or call the KCRC hotline at 2929 3399.
