KCRC steps up service for National Day Fireworks Display
 
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) will step up East Rail and Ma On Shan Rail services for the convenience of the travelling public to view the fireworks display on National Day (1 October).
On the evening of National Day, between 9:45 pm and 11:15 pm, additional northbound trains will run from East Tsim Sha Tsui to Sheung Shui at about 3.5-minute intervals. Between 6 pm and 10:45 pm, the frequency of Ma On Shan Rail trains will be increased to 4-minute intervals. Regarding K16 feeder bus, between West Rail Nam Cheong Station and East Rail East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, the bus stops in both directions at Kowloon Park Drive and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station will be temporarily closed, and the service will terminate at Lai Chak Middle School opposite China Hong Kong City staring from 7 pm to facilitate the special temporary traffic arrangements. Passengers for West Rail Nam Cheong Station will also have to take the bus there.
During the coming Golden Week, KCRC will closely monitor passenger traffic, maintain close contact with government departments and boundary authorities, When necessary, additional trains will run to meet demand. KCRC will also deploy additional manpower to ensure a smooth flow of traffic at the checkpoint.
For cross boundary services, the first and last Lo Wu-bound trains will depart from East Tsim Sha Tsui Station at 5:28 am and 11:05 pm respectively as usual. The Lo Wu checkpoint is open from 6:30 am to midnight.
The Lok Ma Chau checkpoint is open between 6:30 am and 10:30 pm. The first and last Lok Ma Chau-bound train will leave East Tsim Sha Tsui at 5:33 am and at 9:33 pm.
Passengers travelling to the Mainland are advised to listen to radio announcements or call the KCRC Hotline at 2929 3399 to obtain information on cross-boundary service arrangements before starting their journeys.
